Although KK was a great singer he was eccentric when it came to money. Amitabh B in an interview has mentioned the greatness of Rafi saab. Another singer supposed to be present for a show did not turn up. It was Rafi saab who saved the day of Amitabh. No guesses for the absent singer. Secondly where is the scope for improvisation if its Madan Mohan, Naushad, S D Burman, SJ, Chitragupt or Husanlal Bhagtram? These music directors were dons in their domain. They were creators of such wonderful music... Can a singer like Asha suggest improvement to Naushad saab? Maybe to RD!!

Asha is just lucky to get a break when Lata wanted royalties etc in 1960s and OP nayyar hated lata voice and so asha was lucky otherwise no one will know who was asha.. Rafi was the greatest!!! Asha was paid to do this interview to talk about rafi like this.. remember she came from a family who loves money like Lata and the royalties issue,,, Rafi uesed to sing for free when music directors could not afford it,, he gave his chauffeur a new car etc... Rafi was an angel!!! money was his least problem!!!
